At Thiel Greene we provide our clients with focused and personalized accounting and tax services because we care about our clients’ success. As a locally-owned and managed firm, we know the importance of advice based on an in-depth understanding of our clients’ needs combined with the latest developments in tax and accounting.

Who We Are

Thiel Greene Chartered Professional Accountants, is a full-service mid-size Chartered Professional Accounting firm serving clients from our Moncton office. We were formed in November 2016, as a result of the merger of two longstanding successful local practices – Close and Thiel Chartered Professional Accountants and Bruce Wood & Co. Chartered Professional Accountants. We offer tax and accounting services to a wide range of clients including private corporations, farms, not-for-profit organizations, registered charitable organizations, trusts, and individuals.

Michael Thiel, CPA, CA


  • CA School of Business, Obtained CA designation in 2004
  • Graduated University of Lethbridge 2001

Michael grew up in Trail, British Columbia, lived and worked in Lethbridge, Alberta for 12 years, and finally made his way to Moncton, New Brunswick in 2011.

A general practitioner, Michael serves small- and medium-size owner-managed businesses across a variety of industries, assisting them with accounting, tax and general business advice. One of Michael’s areas of focus is the agricultural community where he understands the unique circumstances of clients in the agricultural industry. Michael currently serves as a board member for Moncton Headstart.

Sean Greene, CPA, CA


  • Atlantic School of Chartered Accountancy,
    obtained CA designation in 2003
  • Graduated UNB in 2000

A native of New Richmond, Québec, Sean has been living in Dieppe, New Brunswick since 2000.

A general practitioner who serves small- and medium-size owner managed businesses across a variety of industries, as well as not-for-profit organizations and registered charities, assisting them with accounting, tax and general business advice. In addition to client responsibilities, Sean has served as a practice inspector for CPA New Brunswick and is a frequent presenter on topics involving accounting and assurance at professional development seminars. Sean also serves as a volunteer board member, lending his expertise to various organizations, and currently serves as President of Baseball Dieppe, in addition to being a board member of the Moncton Rotary Club

Fluent in English and French, Sean resides in Dieppe with his wife and three sons. In his spare time, he is usually found at local rinks and ball fields, serving as coach, manager and number one fan for his boys’ teams.

A resident of Moncton, Bruce has been a practicing accountant for 45 years. He has been a Professional Chartered Accountant since 1975 and was a partner in KPMG from 1985 to 1995 when he founded Bruce Wood & Co. He provides business, accounting and tax advice to his diverse client base of owner managed businesses, professionals, not-for-profit organizations and registered charities. In light of his career accomplishments, he was elected as Fellow Chartered Accountant in 2006.

Bruce is the proud father of four adult children, and currently resides in his childhood home on the shores of Jones Lake. He and his wife enjoy travelling to visit their children, and in his spare time, Bruce is actively involved in the community as a long-time member of the Moncton Rotary Club, and current board member of Youth Impact.

David Close CPA CA
David Close, CPA, CA

The founder of the Close & Thiel, David officially retired in July of 2017 following a long and successful career. He still drops into the office regularly to say hello and share his wisdom and advice with the rest of the team!


Jeff Steeves, CPA, CGA

Jeff is a native of Saint John, NB having moved to Moncton when he was in grade 10. Jeff went on to graduate from Moncton High School, NBCC Moncton where he earned a diploma in Electronics Engineering Technology and Laurentian University where he received a Bachelor of Commerce.

Jeff began his professional career working in Halifax for the Department of National Defense but after 6 years came back to Moncton to work in the family business as their controller. In this role he met Gary Cook and decided to continue his accounting career by joining Cook & Company in 2003. At Cook & Company Jeff honed his accounting skills by preparing notice to reader and review engagements, including accounting assistance, corporate and personal tax returns as well as general business advice. While working for Gary Jeff completed his CGA. Jeff joined Thiel Greene upon the acquisition of Cook & Company in December 2019. Jeff’s role has been expanded to include managing the IT issues within the firm.

Jeff is well respected by his clients and they tell us that Jeff is their trusted advisor, making them feel at ease with their accounting and finances and turns complex business situations into understandable solutions.

Jeff volunteers his time with the amateur radio. His other interests include tinkering with antique cars, which he currently owns a 1979 Buick, dabbling in electronics and cooking for large groups, his specialty is turkey dinner for family gatherings. He is married to his loving wife Susan and together they like to travel. One of their favorites is New York City.

Meghan Greene, CPA, CA
Tax Practice Leader

A native of Dartmouth NS and a graduate of UPEI in 2000 where she holds a Bachelor of Business Administration, Meghan spent the majority of her career working with a national Big 4 firm in Moncton, obtaining her CA designation in 2003 and going on to study tax and complete the CICA In-Depth Tax Program in 2006. Meghan has extensive experience in corporate and personal tax planning including structuring business operations to minimize taxes, compensation planning, reorganization of companies to maximize tax benefits, estate planning, development of optimal structures for new ventures and tax planning of acquisitions and sale of businesses.

As a devoted advocate of tax education, Meghan is a frequent presenter with CPA NB and facilitates the CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Courses. She was the 2018 recipient of the Jeff Jutzi Memorial Award given out by CPA Canada in recognition of outstanding leadership, engagement and dedication to the In-Depth Tax Program.

Meghan and her family reside in Dieppe NB and are very involved in their community. Meghan is currently the Treasurer for Moncton Headstart and the Treasurer for Habitat for Humanity Moncton. She was the Treasurer for Laubach Literacy NB (2001-2011) and was an advisor on the Board of GroYourBiz Moncton (2013-2017).

Meghan has a passion for helping others and is a strong advocate for promoting positive mental health.

Lori Melanson, CPA, CGA

Born and raised in Moncton, NB, Lori obtained her CGA designation in 2006. Her background includes extensive experience in both public practice and private business. Always willing to help with a smile, Lori loves to learn and enthusiastically shares her knowledge to help others succeed.

Lori and her husband live in Riverview, NB with their 2 rescue dogs. Her spare time is spent volunteering with animal rescue organizations, travelling (21 countries and counting!), hiking and kayaking.

Christien LeBlanc, CPA, CA

Christien joined Thiel Greene in December 2017. Originally from Bouctouche NB, he is a graduate of the Universite de Moncton in 2009. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in accounting. He obtained his CA designation in 2013. Christien has a mix of public practice experience and private business experience and currently serves on the Board of Le Pays de la Sagouine. He is energized by sharing experience and knowledge with clients to help them succeed.
Christien is a loving husband and proud father of two girls, residing in Notre-Dame NB. In his downtime, he enjoys spending time with his family.

Natalie Belliveau
Natalie Belliveau

Natalie is originally from Moncton but spent her formative years in St. Andrews. She returned to Moncton and graduated from Harrison Trimble High School in 2002. She has a Certificate in Accounting from NBCC (2005). Natalie began working with Bruce Wood & Co in 2009. Prior to that she worked in accounting for a private company. Natalie joined Thiel Greene upon the merger of Bruce Wood & Co. with Close and Thiel. Natalie is a social butterfly and enjoys working with clients understand their needs.

Natalie and her family reside in Moncton. She is a wife and mother of two daughters and loves to spend time with her family. She enjoys cooking, baking, going for walks and watching movies.

Cindy Beaton, CPA, CA
Cindy Beaton

Cindy is the oldest of four girls and was born in Sept-Iles, Québec to a military family and had the opportunity to live in various places including Québec, PEI, New Brunswick, Manitoba, Alberta, Cyprus and France. She graduated from high school at an American school in Nicosia, Cyprus, where class trips included visits to Italy and Greece. She was the first female to graduate from that school to achieve the top athlete of the year award. Cindy went on to complete grade 13 in France.

While Cindy will tell her you that her weakest subject in school was math she now enjoys working with numbers and problem solving. She started her professional career as a front desk clerk in 1995 after settling down in Moncton permanently. While there she really enjoyed working with people and in 2002 made the switch to an accounting role for a private family business. There she honed her skills in bookkeeping, reconciling accounts and making raw data meaningful such that the owners could make business decisions. In 2008 she took the opportunity to work with Dave Close (eventually Close & Thiel) in a small sole practitioner office that was growing. She joined Thiel Greene upon the merger of Bruce Wood & Co with Close & Thiel.

She currently has a close working relationship with her clients where they rely on her expertise to provide accounting assistance, which is her favourite part of her job. Clients tell us she is always patient and very helpful. She provides bookkeeping services and prepares year end files including notice to reader, corporate and personal tax returns, HST returns and is an expert in Sage/Simply accounting.

Cindy is married to Rod (also a military vet) and they have two children. Their son lives in Halifax and their daughter lives in Toronto. She is a member of the Royal Canadian Legion and Ladies Auxiliary. She is an avid dart player and is the NB Legion Ladies Provincial Singles and NB Ladies Doubles champ for 2019. She also captains a ladies team that are the B Div. Provincial champs for 2014, 2018 & 2019 and A Div. runners up for 2015.

Norah Jensen

Norah hails from the Annapolis Valley, Nova Scotia but moved to Moncton in 1998. She earned a Bachelor of Applied Arts in Information Management from Mount St. Vincent University in 1995. Norah began her career in Halifax in an Executive Assistant role but quickly realized her passion for accounting and transitioned to an accounting role. In July 2002, while self-employed she connected with Bruce Wood & Co and provided accounting assistance to a variety of joint clients. She joined Thiel Greene upon the merger with Close and Thiel and then became a full time employee in January 2018. Her role at Thiel Greene includes the preparation of notice to reader, review and audit engagements including corporate and personal tax and accounting assistance. Norah excels at taking complex situations and making them easy to understand. She continually exceeds expectations at finding solutions to the issues our clients face.

Norah lives in Riverview and is married, has two children and a dog, Odie. She has been involved with the Rotary Club of Moncton since 2013. In her spare time she likes to read, hike, and spend time with her family. Over the years Norah and her family have enjoyed many family vacations and have visited many spots in Canada and the US. A couple of her favourites were Newfoundland, with the beautiful rugged coastline, and Disney.

Tina MacGougan

Tina is originally from Fredericton but moved to Moncton in 1995. Tina has had an extensive career in accounting beginning in Fredericton in the areas of accounts receivable and job costing but over time expanded her expertise to include accounting assistance, bookkeeping, preparing notice to reader and review engagements, payroll, HST and personal and corporation income tax. She joined Bruce Wood & Co in 1999 and then became a Thiel Greene employee upon the merger with Close & Thiel. She excels at client service. Clients are very comfortable working with her and she always has their best interests at heart. Tina’s favourite part of her day is a visit from a client.

Tina has also been heavily involved in her community for many years by teaching accounting to new immigrants, volunteering at hospitals to read to seniors and at libraries to read to children, being a Girl Guide leader, and teaching seminars on emergency preparedness.

Tina lives in Riverview and is married to her high school sweetheart. Together they have 5 children and 8 grandchildren. In her spare time she enjoys scrapbooking, creating art work with vinyl signs and journaling family history.

Christine Streatch

Christine has been working with Thiel Greene since February 2017. She prepares notice to reader and review engagements, including corporate tax and accounting assistance. Christine specializes in working with our farm clients and helping them navigate the complexities of the farm accounting rules.

Born and raised in Sackville NB, she is a graduate of NSCC with a diploma in accounting. Prior to her accounting career she spent 15 years as a dental hygienist and graduated from Dalhousie University.

Christine and her husband enjoy gardening, hiking and travelling. Her favourite trip was to Hawaii, where they got married. They have two dogs, Walter and Troy, who rule their lives!!

Sarah Foran

Sarah joined the Thiel Greene team in September of 2020. She brings with her over 10 years of experience in public accounting. Having graduated from NBCC in Moncton with a Business Accounting Diploma at the age of 19, she went full force into the accounting world. While still young, she also worked in many restaurants at nights and weekends as a waitress up to when she met her husband. Through it all, she also worked as a mortgage broker and even a real estate agent, which matched with her people-person and numbers personality quite well.

She is originally from Baie Ste-Anne and now lives in St-Antoine with her husband and her beautiful 2 little young boys. Her hobbies revolve around her 2 little sweethearts, they all enjoy snowmobiling in the winter and pool time in the summer at their home. Her kids are what keeps her energized! In the mist of the pandemic she started her own bookkeeping business to be able to be at home with her 2 boys. Sarah is known to clean up accounting messes as well as for having a bubbly personality. She finds the ‘fun’ in dysfunctional bookkeeping!

Dianne Agustin

Dianne is born and raised in the Philippines and moved to Canada in June 2015. She joined the firm in May 2017 as an intern and was hired on full time in July 2017. After a year, she decided to advance her career by applying to UNB Saint John and graduated with a degree in Bachelor of Applied Management in accounting. After finishing her degree, she rejoined the firm in December 2020. In the future, she would like to become a CPA. Dianne looks forward to gaining the experience necessary to provide a wide range of services to our clients.

Outside of the office, Dianne is a member of the Dance ministry and Media and Arts ministry of Jesus Is Lord Church. She loves editing and producing visual media and spends her free time learning dance choreography.

Brendan Underhill

Brendan was born and raised in Riverview, NB and joined Thiel Greene CPA in December 2020 as a staff accountant. He has a Commerce degree from Mount Allison University. Prior to joining Thiel Greene, Brendan worked as an investment representative. In his spare time, he loves outdoor activities such as hiking with his dog. He also enjoys weightlifting, fishing and woodworking.

Brendan is currently a board member for Friends of the Zoo and is a CPA/PEP candidate with aims to complete his designation in the near future.

Nicole Beaulieu, Administration
Nicole Beaulieu

Nicole was born and raised in Thunder Bay, Ontario and moved to Moncton in 1998 following high school graduation. She then went to Atlantic Business College and enrolled in the Administrative Course, of which she excelled and had a perfect attendance record, receiving the award of excellence and had the highest overall average of her graduating class.

Her first professional job of her career was with Dave Close beginning in May 2001, which became Close & Thiel and finally Thiel Greene Chartered Professional Accountants. She has been here to watch the firm grow and evolve over the years. She likes the variety in her tasks and that every day is different. She is the “Jill of all trades” and keeps our office running smoothly.

Nicole has been a staple as the first person clients see when entering our office. She has a warm, friendly face and a bubbly personality. She is approachable and has a very good memory, remembering even the littlest of details.

Nicole is a past “Big Sister” with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Moncton where she mentored a young girl for 5 years and still keeps in touch with her today. She and her husband reside in Moncton; and she enjoys spending time with her step-daughter. In her spare time she likes to run, having completed three half marathons, and paint. To relax she revels in long walks on the beach, listening to the waves and collecting beach glass

Peggy Collins

Peggy joined Thiel Greene upon the merger with Cook & Company in December 2019. Originally from Corn Hill, Kings Co., NB, she is a graduate of the Business Technology Program in computer programming at NBCC. Peggy has a variety of experiences in wholesale/retail accounting and she owned her own cleaning business for over 20 years. Currently, she helps Thiel Greene clients by working in the areas of administration, bookkeeping and personal tax.

Peggy and her husband reside in Salisbury. In her spare time Peggy enjoys sewing, cycling and spending time with her grandson.

Jim Hartley

Jim has been working with Thiel Greene since March 2019 as a seasonal personal tax specialist, following many years in a similar role with H&R Block. His previous professional career was with RBC Royal Bank starting in 1973 in numerous cities and towns throughout the Maritimes. He held various roles from operations, HR, branch manager, commercial banking and risk management. He officially retired in 2008 after 35 years of service but continued to work on a consulting basis until 2018. Jim enjoys working with clients and has an eye for detail.

Originally from Hazel Hill, Nova Scotia, he is a graduate of St. Francis Xavier University where he holds a Bachelor of Business Administration.

In his retirement Jim enjoys golfing, fishing, curling and spending time with his wife, two children and 5 grandchildren.
